HNS Consultancy was born to provide the nurses of Holistic Nursing Solutions with a team of qualified health professionals that provide unique consultative services for people living with disability and rehabilitation needs. Its mission, to provide client centred care by empowering the person and their team to prevent complications and maintain their health and wellbeing within their local community.

Linking passion, research and skills to support and empower local service providers to achieve better health outcomes. 

Occupational Therapy

Tarryn is a qualified Occupational Therapist with eleven years of experience in various fields of Occupational Therapy. She has six years of experience working with spinal cord injured clients in an acute neuro-rehabilitation unit. Her skills include treating clients in the acute phase of spinal injury, early intervention and therapy, effective seating, identification of equipment needs, and caregiver training. Tarryn is trained in wheelchair seating, specifically manual wheelchairs, for clients with spinal cord injuries, as well as in pressure care management. She also enjoys assisting those who have had strokes and head injuries, and has been involved in community outreach programmes and working with clients in rural clinics. For the last four years she has been based on the Gold Coast providing in-patient acute therapy for clients with neurological deficits and orthopaedic conditions, as well as oncology and debility.

Her particular interests centre on assisting clients to achieve positive and meaningful outcomes. This involves tailoring therapy to appropriately suit the needs of the client in a holistic and comprehensive manner, to best ensure wellbeing and to maximise the benefits of interventions. She has a practical, client-centred approach to therapy and interventions, and is passionate about improving clients’ quality of life, empowering clients and improving function. 

 

                                                                         Nursing

Kerry is a Registered Nurse with over 12 years experience in the acute and community sector.  Working amongst many rural and remote hospitals and communities Kerry has established the core fundamentals of nursing and diversity to give her the skills of providing holistic care. Ongoing education and support for health professionals  and people living within their local rural and remotes communities is a valuable skill that Kerry brings to HNS.  She brings that community aspect into the acute arena which ensures that she provides a holistic care to patients.

 

Kerry has completed her Cert IV in Training and Assessment, as well as two post graduates, one in Palliative Care and the other in Emergency Nursing through Flinders University, Adelaide.  Kerry has a love for the management and prevention of wound and has been working her way through a postgraduate certificate in Wound Care with Monash University, Melbourne.  Kerry is one of few community nurses within Australia to provide education and training for Peristeen anal irrigation - bowel therapy for people living with a neurogenic bowel. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deanne is a Registered Nurse with experience in the acute and community rehabilitation sector. Located in Brisbane Deanne is passionate about providing person centred care to those living in the community wiht physical disabilities. Deanne is an accredited peristeen anal irrigation trainer and educator. 

Kate is a clinical nurse, one of our valuable #teamhns QLD members! Kate has over 20 years community nursing experience. She’s passionate about all things continence and wound related. Kate is an accredited peristeen anal irrigation trainer and educator, loves changing a catheter and is all about delivering person centered care.

Kelly is a clinical nurse, with extensive community nursing knowledge in complex wound care, continence, stoma, PEG feeding and education/training. Kelly is based in Southern Sydney region. 

Elisa has over 20 years experience within the field of catastrophic injuries (SCI and TBI) and is a neurogenic bowel and bladder guru! Elisa has been following #teamHNS and saw an opportunity for us to support the regional NSW community in delivering nursing services, providing training and educational support to regional and rural towns. Elisa is based in Tamworth and will be accessing clientele within a 4hr radius including Towns and their surrounds Armidale, Narrabri, Moree,  Gunnedah and Dubbo. Services include: - SPC changes - Continence assessment and management - bowel and bladder - Complex Nursing assessments - Wound care - Training and education for nursing and support workers/carers. I am  personally am very excited to have this like minded clinician on board. As a new grad on the SCI unit at RNSH, Elisa was my nursing preceptor who held my hand through my very first shift as a registered nurse. She doesn’t know it however she played an important role in setting my foundations of what kind of #nurse I wanted to become and the #nursing culture I want to achieve for HNS. 

Podiatry 

Our team provide mobile podiatry services throughout the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast and Northern Rivers areas. We recognise the need for community and home- based podiatry services in this region. Our Podiatrists are carefully selected and are all very experienced, registered with APHRA and have a passion for providing excellent podiatry care for patients from all walks of life. Specialising in general foot care, wound care, ingrown toenails, diabetic/chronic disease foot care, footwear advice and treatment of lower limb issues.
